The Jackshir Ramble

So first off I need to preface this that Most of the thought process behind this is 1. Me Jack and me like Julian therefore Jackshir real and 2. I am incredibly mentally ill and the only cure is jackshir endgame... Okay so basically like a big part of this is self projection from my own relationship insecurities. I have a lot of self confidence issues in my relationships and I end up projecting that onto jackshir... So basically the whole idea is you kind of have two really fucked up guys who have insecurities from the same root but don't know how to deal with it very well. You have Jack who his whole life he's told he needs to be Normal and then he finds this Normal in Julian's facade and at first he's like Oooh I can't stand this guy. But near the end of Statistical Probabilities he's really starting to warm up to Julian but there's still this sort of unease because well Julian is everything he's ever wanted to be -- he's a doctor*, he masks his "genetic status" really well, he's made a life for himself and he has friends and people Respect Him... Everything Jack has ever wanted and he kind of beats himself up over it. Anyway so after Statistical Probabilities they still sort of keep in touch (It's kind of heavily implied this happens because of Chrysalis just kind of existing plus Julian said he'd keep in touch so ) and Julian and Jack start building up each other a lot and Jack starts kind of uncovering romantic feelings that he's had for Julian nd Julian for Jack. Anyway during one of their visits it kind of all comes spilling out and Mistakes Are Made... Jack doesn't know how to deal with this at all and Julian regrets it a lot but Julian knows if he said anything about that it'd kind of break Jack so contact between Julian and the Jack Pack wains so Julian can try and keep it all out of his mind and Jack starts spiraling a bit. He's no fool he can tell Julian is purposefully not talking to them as much so he starts trying to get in contact with Julian again to no avail (it's not like you can really get many outgoing transmissions without authorization and not get caught) and thennn he decides Well I better take things into my own hands. Jack remembers Julian mentioned wanting to treat Sarina a while back so he starts coming up with a plan to bring Sarina to the station for treatment and he gets the rest of the Jack pack in and then that leads us to Chrysalis
So I'm assuming you've watched Chrysalis and you can pretty well guess that this does not go well. At first Jack is kind of super eager to see Julian again and he just starts bidding his time to get some alone time with Julian to talk things out but then the Sarina and Julian catastrophe of the 24th century occurs and Naturally Everyone feels pretty betrayed by Julian, especially Jack.. He ends up confronting Julian in their quarters and it devolves into a whole screaming match before Jack just leaves to cool off on his own. So Jack's furious and in a secluded spot in the station (don't ask me where I didn't think this far ahead) when Lauren comes in because she hears him bawling his eyes out and everything kind of spills out and Lauren's just trying her best to comfort him and it's very epic cute found family moment whatever. Anyway for a while after the episode Jack is just like really out of it and kind of mentally drained and it is Not Looking Good for him... He has a lot of conflicting emotions because at this point he's kind of in love with Julian but also he really hates him for what he did with Sarina and the already pre-existing jealousy from being treated differently for something that's completely unfair because what really separates them all that much besides a flip of a coin etc.. When Jack starts getting back on his feet he starts delving back into figuring out the whole end of the universe thing he was working on before this all happened (around this time is when Signal to Noise takes place) and he starts recovering from this all. Also I don't think I mentioned this but people don't really Know that any of this is happening because Jack doesn't really have a lot of people he can trust besides Patrick and Lauren and Sarina before everything happened... The rest of this happens after the show ends in the timeline btw but basically One day Julian shows up at the institute to try and catch up with Patrick Jack and Lauren because it's been a while, he catches them up on everything that's been going on because well it's Kind of Isolating In There and eventually he pulls aside Jack and is like Listen. Sorry for being like that and blah blah Jack's pretty pissed off but it's really hard for him to control his emotions because he's pushed the whole thing in the back of his mind so he just breaks down in front of Julian and Julian starts crying too and it's all sad and ahhh ahhh but Julian's just comforting him and promising to never do anything like that again... Things start getting better again after this point obviously Jack hasn't fully forgiven him though but they work through it. Eventually Jack and Julian start getting involved again and then kissy kissy happily ever after !!
*In the STO novel "The Needs of the Many" it portrays Jack as having gotten out of the institute and earning a doctorate in biology which is soo cute and awesome and I love it so much which I'm including here bc I love that depiction

So basically in short this is just honestly one thing I have cooked up in my mind the way that it could go there's like 30 other Jackshir origin stories but this is the main one and it all kind of centers around the fact that Jack is jealous of Julian and eventually they come to terms with each other and see each other as equals and all that yeah. I LOVE TOXIC YAOI
